Community Guidelines
Last updated: April 2026
Foundersbase is a professional community for founders, co-founders, investors, and startup supporters. These guidelines exist to protect every member from misuse, fraud, and spam and to keep the platform a trustworthy place for genuine connections and collaboration.
Every member is expected to follow these guidelines. Violations may result in restrictions on your account, up to and including permanent removal.
Profile Quality
Your profile is your first impression. It must be authentic, accurate, and professional:
- Use your real name and a recognisable photo of yourself.
- Provide truthful information about your background, skills, and current role.
- Do not impersonate another person, company, or organisation.
- Do not use your profile primarily as an advertisement or landing page for external services.
- Keep your profile up to date — outdated or misleading information undermines trust in the community.
Content Standards
All content you post — including feed posts, comments, messages, startup pages, and job listings — must meet these standards:
- Be relevant to the startup and founder ecosystem.
- Provide genuine value — insights, questions, experiences, or opportunities.
- Do not post repetitive, low-effort, or AI-generated spam.
- Do not post misleading claims, fake testimonials, or inflated metrics.
- Cite sources when sharing data or quoting others.
- Respect copyright, trademarks, and intellectual property.
Prohibited Behaviour
The following are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate action:
- Harassment, threats, hate speech, or personal attacks of any kind.
- Fraudulent schemes, scams, or deceptive offers.
- Unsolicited mass messaging or aggressive self-promotion.
- Sharing private or confidential information about others without consent.
- Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions.
- Posting sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise illegal content.
- Automated scraping, data harvesting, or bot-driven interactions.
- Manipulating platform features such as likes, follows, or rankings.
- Facilitating money laundering, unlicensed financial advice, or unregistered securities offerings.
- Any activity that violates applicable law.
Communication & Messaging
Direct messages should be respectful, relevant, and wanted:
- Introduce yourself and state your purpose clearly.
- Do not send identical messages to many members (mass outreach).
- Respect a member's decision not to respond — do not follow up aggressively.
- Do not use messages to solicit personal data, passwords, or financial details.
Enforcement
We review accounts and content both automatically and manually. If we determine that your account or content does not comply with these guidelines, we may take one or more of the following actions without prior notice:
- Issue a warning with a defined period to correct the issue.
- Restrict your ability to post, message, or appear in search results.
- Reduce the visibility of your profile or content.
- Suspend your account temporarily or permanently.
- Delete your account and all associated data after a grace period.
Enforcement decisions are made at our sole discretion to protect the community. We are not obligated to disclose the specific internal signals or thresholds that triggered an action.
Reporting Violations
If you encounter content or behaviour that violates these guidelines, please use the report function available on profiles, posts, and messages. Every report is reviewed.
These guidelines may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated guidelines.
